The Mayan Ruins In Tulum

Ruins is a word used to describe the remains of man-made architecture. These are remains of something that has become partly or mostly destroyed. Visiting the ruins gives you the chance to imagine the lives of the ancient people who lived there. The structures simply tell stories about what was life like and also about the unique cultural aspects of their civilization. Ruins can be caused by wars or by natural disasters such as earthquakes, fires and volcanoesB.
The Tulum ruins are located on a cliff top overlooking a stunning beach and Sea. They are about 80 miles south of Cancun and 35 miles from Playa del Carmen. The site is easily accessible from the highway and it is not hard to explore. The archeological ruins at Tulum have a number of excellently well preserved structures and buildings to explore and the scenery is outstanding. One of the main buildings is called El Castillo (the Castle); it has a fantastic vantage point directly above Tulum beach and the Caribbean Sea below. The Castillo, sometimes referred to as the lighthouse, is the tallest building at Tulum and considered to be the most famous. It was a temple and fortress. Tulum basically has three sections: the town, the hotel zone, and lastly the Mayan Ruins which is the archaeological site. Tulum can get crowded and hot, so it is best to visit in the morning before the cruise boat and bus groups arrive. It is easy to get buses to the ruin entrance and there is parking for a minimal fee.
If you consider staying in Tulum for a vacation; there are a lot of Tulum hotels you can choose from.
