Glasgow's West End Is The New Soho

Hillhead in the West End offers particularly vibrant night life with countless quirky and hight street shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs. Byres Road near Hillhead is known as one of the most attractive streets to visit.
In the North side of Hillhead there are some of the most attractive and and unique shops found in Glasgow as well as magnificent views and sights. Roots and Fruits and Mellis' the cheesemonger will provide you with many of your experimental ingredients. For a night out you can visit the art deco inspired Viper Nightclub, across from which are some architecturally impressive buildings. Head to student populated Gibson Street with the Kensington Park located nearby. This is particularly popular during the summer months with students relaxing on the lawns. You can indulge in some fantastic dinners may it be Pizzeria Amici or the Lebanese restaurant Shallal. If you're still a child at heart you can view the range of toys across the street at Acabus.
Further along are University buildings that are well worth a visit. The Gillmorehill Centre features a hi-tech cinema and a theatre. The beautiful Gothic architecture is only continued further on University avenue. If you're aching for something cultural, the Hunterian Art Gallery and Museum has an impressive collection of Charles Rennie Mckintosh furniture.
If you're a tourist, the Belgrave Hotel will provide you with wonderful accommodation for a spectacular night in the West End and Hillhead area. The Belhaven Hotel also has a great range of prices. If you'd like something really high class, try the Hotel du Vin Glasgow.
